+Some players miss a cloakable scanning station for the Romulan faction. This unit is actually meant to make up for it. While not having the same scanning range as a [[en:games:star_trek_armada_1:sensor_stations|sensor station]] it is comparable (700 (normal stations) vs. 800 (scouts) vs. 1000 (sensor stations)) and at the same time can cloak. So using it as a stationary scanning station is a good compromise.
